Pet Tales

Our pets feel like family members, and we grieve them the same way.  Your pet’s obituary may never make it to the local newspaper, but it can still provide an enormous amount of solace for you and any other family members or friends.

Smokie

Smokie showed up on our doorstep when she was 2 months old on September 11th, 2006. Since then she has been the perfect companion and best friend. She was cuddly, she was sassy, she loved to chew on plastic, she loved trying to sit in boxes that were way too small for her, she would bat at your legs for fun, she would watch out the window to make sure everyone got home, and she was an extremely accurate alarm clock for 8:00pm because that’s when she got her wet food. Smokie was a great cat and she will be missed.

Octavia

Octavia was a sweet little girl. She was and still is loved by her mommy Christina and her sisters Katie, Meghan and Allyson. She loved to eat scrambled eggs as her favorite treat.  She also loved to run in her wheel for hours. Octavia also loved cuddling under her fleece blankets during the day.  She had the nickname Sonic because she was so quick when running in her wheel or when she was not in her cage.  Octavia will be missed very much and will always have a place in her family’s hearts.  We love you prickly pear and miss you lots!!

Zodiac Believer (Zoe)

It was destined that Zoe was suppose to be mine.  He was 6 when we met and we immediately both knew I was his and he was mine.  His favorite toys were squeaky stuffed animals, going around the house squeaking all the way.  He also loved to wear his sweaters and winter coats.  He loved car rides, looking out the window at the world. He’d come back from the groomers knowing full well how handsome he was, greeting the neighbors with an air of confidence.  He was a gentle gentleman, laid back, loving all humans and animals, and couldn’t understand why cats didn’t want to play with him. Thank you Caring Pet Cremation Services for taking and caring for Zoe at the end in the special way that a family member should be cared for.  I will sing your praises to everyone I know.  Thank you.

Raven

Raven was like a child to me. She was so sweet, loving, affectionate and a really great dog. She loved to cuddle for bed time. Raven and her sister Harley always greeted us at the door when we came home. She was my baby girl, who left a big paw print in my heart even though she was a small dog. I know she isn’t suffering and I will miss her and carry my love for her always. I want to thank you all for taking care of her and giving me that closure.

Ruger

We had gotten him as a puppy and he has been an extremely loyal and protective dog over all of our family- humans and pets alike. He always enjoyed frisbee and could catch the frisbee in the air effortlessly. He has been bitten by poisonous snakes and kicked by horses and it only slowed him down slightly. Rock solid dog with few health issues until just a few weeks ago when we found that cancer had consumed him, and he had fought it to the end. A piece of you will always be with us Ruger, as you have helped to raise the labs we have now and taught them how to be loyal. We love you Ruger.

Ghirardelli

Ghirardelli, “Jerry” for short, was a part of our family who will always be remembered for his old soul and sweet disposition.  He was truly one of a kind and the ultimate companion.  We met in 2012 when Jerry approached my front porch one day and I took him in.  We immediately bonded and he became a part of my life as if he’d always been there…with a short walk around his new home, smelling everything, he did as he always did in a new place- took a deep sigh and rolled over, belly up.  We spent many days on that porch with Jerry perched at the edge smelling the outdoors, sunbathing and people watching.  I have a tendency of showing photos of Jerry to people and it never fails- the response has always been something like “oh what a HANDSOME boy”.  He is in our hearts forever and I still often do a double take, expecting him to make his grand entrance into the room.  Rest peacefully, Jerry…mommy loves you, sweet boy.

Fudge

We got Fudge when he was 7 weeks old as a cute choocolate lab puppy. He grew up with our kids who were then 5, 7 , and 10. He loved us unconditionally from the day we got him to the day he passed at almost 13 years old. He also loved to eat, go for walks, and meet new people. But his favorite thing to do was swim and his favorite day of the year was doggy day at our neughborhood pool when he would go down the slide, jump in repeatedly and even give the kids rides up and down the pool. It ws fitting that he passed on pool doggy day too. He was the best dog ever and will forever be in our hearts but we know we were blessed to have had him and also know he is in doggy heaven swimming and eating to his heart’s content.

Blackjack

Blackjack was born in Kentucky on July 6, 2008 and passed in Virginia August 4, 2022 at 14 years old. We adopted him at the age of two or three. His life before we adopted him was not kind. We brought him to our home and was loved very much. He was a very loyal dog.  He was also a protector, gentle and quiet dog (unless someone came in the yard). He proved his loyalty when his Daddy became ill. Blackjack stayed by his side on the couch and  was there until he took his last breath. He only left his side to eat and to take care of business. Even after his Daddy passed Blackjack would not leave the couch still showing his loyalty. His duty then was to look out for his Mommie. Blackjack was loved by many. He held a special place in Sarah’s heart. Our love for him was unconditional as was his. He was preceded in death by his Daddy-William. Survived by Mommie-Debbie, step-daddy-Tim, his beloved human sister-Sarah, his fur brother-Red and fur sister-Jewel.  You will forever have a place in our hearts. Now you’ve crossed Rainbow Bridge and running free with Daddy.

Lenore

Our beautiful Lenore Summer Moezzi-Woods passed away at home in the arms of her loving parents on July 29th, 2022. She was a joy to everyone around her and made cat lovers out of skeptics. Her brave spirit and spunky disposition brought us countless smiles and never failed to brighten up our days. Though our time with her was limited to less than three years, every moment was filled with love and happiness. Weighing in at only around six pounds, little Lenore was the sweetest of “velcro” kitties and loved to sit on our laps and purr her heart out. Her favorite thing to eat was chicken, particularly the human grade variety if she was quick enough to nab it. She jumped extraordinarily high in pursuit of her favorite feathered toys and enjoyed scratching up our couch, much to our chagrin. We loved her beyond words. Her presence will never be forgotten and her spirit lives on through the love she gave us and that we gave her in turn. She is survived by her mom, Sunauz, her dad, Justin, and her big brother, Odion. Until we meet again, sweetest love.

Ace

This is Mr. Ace Boogie, me and him clashed journeys in a little mountain town up in Western New York in the fall of 2013. My little boogieman was apart of many many journeys all over. A few actually going as far as Colorado! This picture here is one of favorites, just us two hiking through the Boulder Flatirons on a beautiful day.

We had a lot of fun exploring the Flatirons and various other locations out west.

He will always be my little mountain puppy.
